Mold Remediation in Ventura, From Pierpont to Montalvo
Mold remediation in Ventura is usually a two-part job: removing the growth, and finding the water that fed it. Our crew does both, so the problem doesn't come back with the next leak or the next wet winter.

Coastal Air and Cool Summers
Ventura's summers are mild; NOAA's 1991–2020 normals for a nearby station put August highs around 74°F. Without long stretches of intense heat, a wall cavity or crawl space that gets wet can stay damp for a long time. Homes near the beach in Pierpont and the Keys are also the most exposed to winter surf and storm water.
After Winter Storms
The 2023 storms are a good reminder. River flooding in January and surf over the Pierpont walls in December left some homes with wet walls and floors. Where that water wasn't fully dried, growth often followed weeks later. If you're still cleaning up from a flood, start with our flood cleanup page.
Our Remediation Process
- Assess. Moisture meters and thermal imaging show where water is and how far growth may reach.
- Contain. Sheeting and negative air pressure keep spores out of the rest of the house.
- Remove. Porous materials with growth, such as drywall, insulation and carpet, are cut out and bagged.
- Clean. HEPA vacuuming and antimicrobial treatment on framing and hard surfaces.
- Dry. Dehumidifiers bring the area down to normal moisture.
- Restore. New drywall and finishes once it's verified dry.
Where We Most Often Find It
In Ventura's 1960s and 1970s housing, the usual suspects are bathrooms with weak ventilation, slow leaks under kitchen sinks, water heater closets, and the ceiling below a leaking roof valley. Rental and condo buildings add shared plumbing walls to that list.

Frequently asked questions
I smell something musty but can't see anything. What now?
A moisture check is the next step. Hidden water behind a wall or under a floor is the usual cause.
Is it safe to stay home during remediation?
In most cases, yes, because the work area is sealed off. We'll advise if a specific job is better done with the room empty.
Do I need testing first?
Not always. If growth is visible and the moisture source is clear, testing may not change the plan. You're welcome to hire an independent tester.
